Come join SNIP, where we cultivate a vibrant, inclusive, and dynamic work culture that celebrates individuality and fosters professional growth. We're on the lookout for a skilled Registered Veterinary Technician or an outstanding recent graduate to join our expanding team.
At SNIP, we're dedicated to providing ample opportunities for career advancement and skill enhancement. From attending veterinary conferences to online continuing education, CPR training, and support for professional licensure, we ensure our team stays at the forefront of their field.
Established in 2021, SNIP has been serving Northwest Indiana as a mobile spay/neuter clinic. As we grow, we're transitioning to a brick-and-mortar facility located near Bass Pro Shops in Portage, IN. Our mission is to provide high-quality, high-volume spay and neuter services to the public, while also supporting our rescue partners in achieving their spay/neuter/TNR goals.
In our new location, we anticipate performing approximately 75 spay/neuter procedures per day, with a focus on cats (65%) and dogs (35%). Additionally, we conduct a monthly vaccine clinic on the first Friday of every month. Occasionally, we may also undertake select soft tissue surgeries for our rescue partners.
At SNIP, we prioritize work-life balance without compromising on patient care. There are two shifts: 7 am-3:30 pm or 8:30 am-5 pm, Monday through Friday—no weekends or overnight shifts!
Employees of the early shift are responsible for safely transporting patients from their owners to the veterinarian for pre-surgical exams, securely enclosing patients in their kennels, and general morning facility set up before the surgery day begins, surgical prep or surgical monitoring, and clean-up of their station before leaving for the day.
Employees of the later start shift are responsible set up of the surgery prep area and surgical area, drawing up vaccines and preparing services for the day's patients, surgical prep or surgical monitoring, end of day general clean up, and transporting pets back to their owners for discharge instructions (including answering any questions that may arise.)
